THE RECENTLY crowned Pembrokeshire Youth League champions Neyland are through to the third round of WRU playoffs after a 24-10 win over Lampeter Town Youth at Loughor RFC last Saturday (Apr 29).

In the first round of the playoffs they faced Llandeilo in Laugharne RFC on Saturday , April 22, the young blacks came out convincing winners 32-12.

Kick off was delayed by over an hour as Lampeter Town arrived late due to their bus breaking down. This had a knock on effect and the opening 40 minutes saw the sides go in 7-7 at the break.

After an inspiring half – time talk the Y oung B lacks converted a penalty early into the half to take a 10-7 lead the score was quickly brought back to 10 all with a cheap penalty been given away, Neyland then scored two unanswered and converted tries to seal victory.

Tries scorers were No 8 Scott Buirds (2), centre Alex Codd, and replacement prop Callum Jocelyn.

The imperious outside half of Harry Williams made sure he brought his kicking boots as he added all three conversions and a penalty.

The Young All Blacks will play their next playoff game this Saturday 6th May 2017 at Pontarddulais RFC, against Senghenydd from the Dragons Region, kick off is at 2.30pm

Following this game sees a quick turn around for the Y oung B lacks who are also through to the Pembrokeshire Youth Cup final to face Narberth at Haverfordwest RFC on Wednesday , May 10 at 7.15pm.
