Lorry hits railway bridge

A LORRY has hit a railway bridge on the A4139 between Penally and Lydstep this afternoon (Jul 14).

Dyfed-Powys Police and Network Rail engineers have attended the scene.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: “We are inspecting the bridge for any damage that may have been caused. The first train over the bride following the collision ran at 5mph, and subsequent trains over the next couple of hours will proceed at 20mph. There are no service cancellations.”

A spokesperson for the police said: “Police were called to the A4139 just after 11am to a report that a lorry had collided with a bridge.”
