Pembroke Dock: Police warn of hidden dangers in derelict building

DYFED-POWYS POLICE is urging people to stay away from a derelict building at the Dockyard, Pembroke Dock.

Pembroke Dock Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) will be carrying out increased patrols in the area to discourage people from entering the building. Anyone caught entering the building will be dealt with appropriately.

A spokesperson for the police said: “We are receiving a worrying number of reports of people entering, and causing damage to, the old Commodore Hotel at the Dockyard, Pembroke Dock. The derelict building is currently undergoing building work to make it secure.

“Due to the condition of the building it is highly dangerous to enter. It contains hazardous materials, such as Asbestos, making the building too unsafe for contractors to enter without specialist equipment to protect them.

“I would like to make the dangers clear to the public and remind people that entering and causing damage to this building is a crime.”

Anyone with information that can help officers identify trespassers, should contact Pembroke Dock Neighbourhood Policing Team by calling 101. If you are Deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired, text the non-emergency number on 07811 311 908.
