FISHGUARD RNLI inshore lifeboat was tasked to support Coastguard Rescue Team members treating a man who broke his ankle jumping into the sea from cliffs on Tuesday (Aug 8).
The UK Coastguard requested the launch of the D class lifeboat Team Effort on Tuesday afternoon and it was on the water by 4.04pm.
The volunteer crew proceeded to Newport Bay to offer assistance to the 50-year-old injured man.
In good weather with a light south south-westerly wind and good visibility the crew arrived on scene at 1618 to find the casualty being attended to by the Coastguards.
The lifeboat crew went ashore and assisted the Coastguard Team to carry the casualty, who was by now in a stretcher, to an awaiting vehicle.
They lifeboat then returned to base, arriving at 5.06pm.
